    Die Figur stellt offensichtlich einen Schüler dar. Wahrscheinlich aus einem Roman, wo sich ein kleiner Held gegen die große Welt behaupten muss und wird. Der nähere Kontext ist mir jedoch nicht mehr geläufig. Rätselhaft erscheint mir heute die gesamte Szene - insbesondere den Bezug zu dem Hund. Freund oder Feind? Wer weiß?

    Without a doubt, the picture is about a pupil, whose adventures I must have read in some forgotten book. However, I cannot recall the circumstances anymore. What is the relationship with the dog? Friend or enemy? Who knows?

    Il s'agit sans doute d'un écolier dont j'ai lu les aventures dans un récit oublié. Les circonstances ici représentées se sont perdues dans la mémoire. Elles sont énigmatiques. En particulier, la relation au chien. Ami ou ennemi? Qui sait?
